MODEL WASTES MANAGERS EXCITEDLY CLAIM REWARDS

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office pronounce the top offices compliant in Institutionalized-Solid Waste Management Education and Enforcement Program (I-SWEEP) on November 4, 2019 through memorandum circular no. 20 at Provincial Government Center.


I-SWEEP is one of the PENRO's flagship program on Solid Waste Management, aimed to ensure proper waste segregation in pursuant to Executive Order no. 10 series of 2019, this shall execute among offices within Goverment Center including National Government Agencies.


In the recently conducted monitoring for first semester (2019), the Provincial Offices such as PACCO, PAdO-Admin, PDO-DRRM (Admin section), PPDO, PTO and the national government offices includes Hall of Justice - RTC Library/OCC, DAR, DILG, COMELEC and Hall of Justice - RTC Branch 1 were recognized as the top compliant offices and shall received 1 sack of rice as award.


This program envisioned that the key to efficiently implement waste segregation shall begin at source. Thus incorporation of reward-based approach, observed as a positive way of changing individual perception towards managing solid waste.
