BRGY. DEL MONTE, NEW CORELLA. In pursuit of attaining an environment-oriented community development, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), in coordination with the Municipal Tourism Office of New Corella and the Barangay Officials of Del Monte, conducted a 2-day Caving Assessment last October 9-10, 2019. Three awesome caves namely, Rickton, Monta and Borha Cave were explored by the team.
Each cave exhibits unique characteristics. Cave Rickton has muddy terrains and tiny path holes leading to challenging trails. Cave Monta presents a number of natural indoor pools that can be enjoyed by 10-12 persons at the same time. Finally, Borha Cave is splendid with its glimmering stalagmites and stalactites. Of the three, Cave Borha is popular to locals as it is home to a large population of fruit bats and birds called “Balinsasayaw”.
The underground adventure was capped with a refreshing splash in a crystal clear lagoon and waterfalls!
Come, explore and be awed by New Corella's enchantig caves.
