Sto. Niño, Talaingod - The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte under the leadership of Kuya Gob Edwin I. Jubahib, initiated a peace convergence program called Oplan Tabang, an acronym for "TApok sa Barangay Alang sa Nanginahanglan ug Galisod". The program launched at Sto. Nino Talaingod from September 4 to 6, 2019. This activity aims to unite the dabaonons and bring public services to those in needs.
As part of the initiative, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office conducted its buy-back operation program for recyclable and non-sellable plastic wastes, dubbed as BASURESIKLO: Gasa ni Kuya, Baylo sa Basura". The program supports the Governor's executive agenda for sustainable environment.
The 3 days activity engaged the 3 barangays of Talaingod (Sto. Niño, Palma Gil and Dagohoy) the to segregate wastes at source, as well as promoting the concept of "may value ang basura". In exchange to the recovered wastes namely: PET bottles, cellophanes, plastic sachets and wrappers, PENRO items such as tumblers, bags and packs of rice were distributed.
