SALVACION, STO. TOMAS - PENRO's banner program on waste management dubbed "BASURESIKLO: Gasa ni Kuya, Baylo sa Basura", engaged students and teachers through an innovative buy-back scheme. A total of 48 YES-O members gathered, cleaned, and dried plastic wastes since July up to September. PENRO weighs and record in a "passbook" the number of plastic wastes they collect throughout the three months. Their total kilos "earned" qualify them to receive school bags, water tumbler, customized bag tags, and rice.

In a simple ceremony last October 1, 2019 at the school's gymnasium, PENRO Romulo Tagalo encouraged the youth to continue their advocacy of sowing the seeds of concern and love for the environment.

To inspire the youth further, he shared his experience in highschool when he was president of the Junior Ecologist Movement (JEM), a precursor of YES-O.

Students warmly expressed their gratitude to Kuya Gov for his gifts.

The program commended the support of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office of LGU Sto. Tomas, School Principal Dr. Canton and YES-O Division President Mr. Stanley Manaay.
